KOTA BAHARU, Monday 2 August 2010 (Bernama) -- The Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital is experiencing low water pressure due to maintenance work carried out by Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB), not critical water supply problems as reported.
Kelantan Housing, Infrastructure, Utilities and Environment Committee chairman Major (R) Datuk Md. Anizam Abd. Rahman said the maintenance work at the Chica water treatment plan affected all areas in Kota Baharu District and not merely the hospital.
"The water supply problems in the district is not critical as it is being restored in stages to all areas although the pressure is still low.
"The problem is not unexpected as we had issued notices before the maintenance work is carried out," he told reporters here today.
Expressing regret over the hospital's claim, he said only old wards experience low water pressure while the new ones remained unscathed.
On the hospital monthly water bills, he said the highest recorded was RM25,025.83 and not RM35,000 as reported.
AKSB will investigate water woes faced by the hospital, he said, adding that so far he had not receive any complaints on water problems faced by patients and their families at the hospital.
