KOTA BARU, 28 July 2009: Kelantan Menteri Besar Kelantan Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has not dismissed the possibility of the state government taking the federal government to court if both parties could not reach an agreement on the oil royalty.
"There is no reason for the federal government not to give the royalty to the Kelantan government because the oil rig is in Kelantan waters.
"We'll negotiate; if we cannot negotiate, we will take the matter to court. If not the court here, to the international court," he said, commenting on the state government's claim for RM1 billion in oil royalty from the federal government
The issue was raised by Kelantan PAS deputy commissioner III Datuk Husam Musa in the campaign for the Manik Urai by-election recently. — Bernama
