KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- MCA vice-president Datuk Ong Tee Keat today said that the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) should not resort to selectively banning access to certain Internet portals and hoped that that it would re-consider its decision.
Ong said under the Multimedia Super Corridor's (MSC) Bill of Guarantees, the government had promised that there would be no censorship over the Internet.
In a posting on his personal blog, www.ongteekeat.net, today, he said that blocking access to certain websites would only encourage more people to attempt to access them.
