Court to hear Shafee suit against RPK on Nov 28

(The Star) The High Court has set Nov 28 for interparte hearing of the application by lawyer Datuk Muhammad Shafee Abdullah for a number of injunctions against Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Raja Kamarudin.

Justice Hakim Datuk Tee Ah Sing fixed the date in chambers here on Wednesday.

Shafee was suing Raja Petra for posting three articles on Aug 6, 7 and 11 entitled Shafee Abdullah: Sodomologist Extraordinaire, Money, Power and Sex: What Motivates Man and The Real Dalang Behind The Anwar Sodomy Allegation on the Malaysia Today website which he said were defamatory of him.

On Aug 13, he obtained exparte injunctions ordering Raja Petra to remove the articles as well as all comments on the articles from the website, and reveal the identities of visitors to the website who left comments and messages following the publishing of the articles, among others.

The interparte hearing was supposed to held on Sept 2 but on that day, Raja Petra succeeded in getting an order to stop Shafee from acting for himself in the suit and the court also postponed the hearing to Wednesday. -- Bernama
